French Translation Project

Updated 0800 Thursday 12th April 2001 UK Time

If you are doing translation work - please check this page regularly.
We do not want you to waste effort doing what someone else is doing.

This page is for those helping Robin, and each other, with translation into French.

Sending e-mail to others with an interest in French

Please do not abuse the fact that you may e-mail these people.

Switzerland Yves Jeanbourquin 461208N0061060E Geneva. G38.

Robin is very grateful to Yves for his good work in providing all the data in FRENTRAN.EXE below. Over the years we have had promises from others that they would do the work, but Yves in Switzerland is the very first to do it :-)

Work in Progress

All the important work has been done by Yves.
A few more sounds could be translated for the (Ascot) demonstration. FRENTRA2.EXE holds some extra WAV files from Yves for a few place names in Europe.

On Thursday 12th April FRENTRAN.EXE was replaced by one which included the translated GPSS.TXT online help.

Translation Downloads

FRENTRAN.EXE should be downloaded into c:\French and run to self-extract all the files. Copy LANGUAGE.CFG from c:\french to the GPSS directory (e.g. c:\gpss) to make GPSS startup in French. J "jumps" to next language (English->French->English etc).
